2019 Japan Team - Everybody Included.jpg

14 people are now in training to go to Osaka, Japan to serve alongside KACC Missionaries Matt and Jessica Whelchel at their Mustard Seed Osaka Church plant.  The application process is now closed.  The Team has done memory work and talked with the Whelchels live via Facebook to prepare.  The team will do more study of culture, effective gospel presentation to the Japanese people, and language to get them equipped.  You can be a part of the team as a supporter through prayer and financial donations  as they prepare for this short-term trip.

2019 Short Term Trips

San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation
March 11-14

Our High Schoolers and Junior Highers spent their spring break serving in Globe, Arizona serving with Missionaries Robert and Liz Crews.  The team spent two days doing demo work, construction clean up, and initial reinforcement of a “workshop” that is being built that will serve to train Apache men with job skills to provide solutions to tackle the 77% unemployment rate on the reservation.  Even though it was rainy and cold these young people worked hard with great attitudes.  We also were able to interact with the Apache youth through games, crafts, basketball, and Bible stories to both demonstrate and declare the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Tecate Orphanage
January 2-6

18 of us went to Tecate, Mexico to come alongside missionaries Alejandro and Norma Gonzalez to help with improvement projects for the orphanage and to reach their community with a “Day of the Kings” fiesta. Our team painted two murals, a church sign and completed a project of repositioning, reinforcing and refinishing the main indoor stairway for the orphanage the first three days.  On Saturday we were part of the community outreach fiesta where there were games, food, piñatas and the gospel presented in creative ways.  Our team members worked hard, ate great Mexican food, and grew in their understanding of what it meant to be a servant of Jesus by serving others.

Missionary Partners

In The Gap - San Carlos Apache Reservation - Arizona

Robert and Liz Crews

Robert and Liz Crews have served on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Eastern Arizona since 2012. Ezekiel 22:30 states “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” God has asked us to stand/kneel/pray “In the Gap” between Him and the Apache people. We will do whatever is necessary to help the Apache people discover who Jesus is and learn to follow Him.

Pioneer Bible Translators - West Africa

Barb and Evert Temminck

Evert and Barb Temminck served with Pioneer Bible Translators in West Africa for 24 years. They are excited that the COMPLETE Bible was finished and published in 2017 in the language Barb has worked in while in West Africa.

During the time the Temminck’s were stateside for six weeks, Evert was diagnosed with brain cancer which was quite a blow to the family. Their plans to return to West Africa were immediately cancelled. They re-located to Dallas, Texas where Pioneer Bible Translator's head office is located and Evert is continuing to receive excellent medical care. He has received radiation and chemotherapy through December 2017. Thus far his cancer has greatly slowed down.

Barb has been able to be on the teaching team of Pioneer Bible Translator’s, Roots of Care Training.  Many of their missionaries work in parts of the world where they face many difficult situations.  Training people to care for them on the field helps them to THRIVE in bringing God’s Word to the people. She will also be a part of the teaching team of a Debriefing Workshop.  Many missionaries experience critical incidents on the field and debriefings are imperative.

The Temmincks are very thankful for KACC’s partnership in bringing Jesus through the translation of God’s word to difficult, dark places of the world.

“Your prayers and support are making a difference.”

Pacific Youth Correctional - Orange County

Sheri Snyder

Chaplain to Incarcerated Youth, Orange County, CA

I began serving in the Orange County juvenile correctional facilities in 1995 as a volunteer teaching Bible study to the boys.  In 1999, I entered the ministry full-time and my primary focus became teaching and discipling my beloved girls behind-the- walls, and spiritually mentoring them following release.  I invite you to partner with me in fulfilling Isaiah 58:12 - "Those from among you shall build up the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to dwell in. "

  • Pray I will develop deep lasting relationships with my girls from incarceration through release.

  • Pray I will love unconditionally while holding my girls accountable for wrong attitudes and actions.

  • Pray God will prepare the hearts of every youth to receive, understand, and apply the seeds of His Word.

  • Pray for continued favor and open doors within the Orange County Probation department.

Many of them come from closed nations, meaning that they are not free to learn about the Bible and Jesus in their home country. Some have never even heard the name of Jesus and to study the Bible. This is done through one on one appointments with students, a weekly English Practice, and inviting them to join our 5-week discovery Bible study (held at the beginning of each quarter), in addition to several other activities.
