Short-term Missions Trip Opportunity January 2 – 6, 2019
Casa Hogar Tecate - Hope, Faith and Love
Alejandro and Norma Gonzalez
God put the burden for the orphanage on Alejandro and Norma’s heart as they want to help the children of Mexico. Alejandro had to grow up working for his family at the age of 7 when his own mother passed away so he has a very personal burden for children without parents.
The orphanage has been ready to receive children since December of 2016, but the government has not given them the proper permits and inspections as the orphanage has requested. Currently they are working with lawyers to gain these inspections and permits. Please pray for this process to be completed as soon as possible so they can begin receiving children.
The orphanage has a capacity for 36 children.
It is on two acres of land in Tecate, Mexico eight miles from the Tecate border crossing.
In 2006 the Gonzalez’s were challenged to consider opening an orphanage in Tecate to help with the big need of orphans in Baja, Mexico. After seeking the Lord in prayer they and hearing His call they converted their retirement home into the orphanage. The building began in 2007 and was completed in December 2016.
The orphanage started a church on site March of 2016
Alejandro was a pastor in National City for eleven years where he and Norma were distributing food throughout the community and then taking the leftover food to families in Tecate. The Gonzalez dedicated themselves full time to Casa Hogar in July 2013.
While the orphanage is trying to acquire the necessary permits the site is presently hosting pastor’s retreats and training periodically.
Please stay tuned for more details!
Robert and Liz Crews have served on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Eastern Arizona since 2012. Ezekiel 22:30 states “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” God has asked us to stand/kneel/pray “In the Gap” between Him and the Apache people. We will do whatever is necessary to help the Apache people discover who Jesus is and learn to follow Him.
Barb and Evert Temminck
Evert and Barb Temminck served with Pioneer Bible Translators in West Africa for 24 years. They are excited that the COMPLETE Bible was finished and published in 2017 in the language Barb has worked in while in West Africa.
During the time the Temminck’s were stateside for six weeks, Evert was diagnosed with brain cancer which was quite a blow to the family. Their plans to return to West Africa were immediately cancelled. They re-located to Dallas, Texas where Pioneer Bible Translator's head office is located and Evert is continuing to receive excellent medical care. He has received radiation and chemotherapy through December 2017. Thus far his cancer has greatly slowed down.
Barb has been able to be on the teaching team of Pioneer Bible Translator’s, Roots of Care Training. Many of their missionaries work in parts of the world where they face many difficult situations. Training people to care for them on the field helps them to THRIVE in bringing God’s Word to the people. She will also be a part of the teaching team of a Debriefing Workshop. Many missionaries experience critical incidents on the field and debriefings are imperative.
The Temmincks are very thankful for KACC’s partnership in bringing Jesus through the translation of God’s word to difficult, dark places of the world.
“Your prayers and support are making a difference.”

Sheri Snyder, Chaplain to Incarcerated Youth, Orange County, CA
I began serving in the Orange County juvenile correctional facilities in 1995 as a
volunteer teaching Bible study to the boys. In 1999, I entered the ministry full-time and

fulfilling Isaiah 58:12 - "Those from among you shall build up the old waste places; you
shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer
of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to dwell in. "
- Pray I will develop deep lasting relationships with my girls from incarceration through
- Pray I will love unconditionally while holding my girls accountable for wrong attitudes
- Pray God will prepare the hearts of every youth to receive, understand, and apply the
seeds of His Word.

Beruma Ministry Inc.
The word BERUMA comes from the Arabic word meaning, a well of water . (Genesis 21:19) It was on this occasion that Hagar and her son Ishmael were facing death in the harsh, barren desert. But God had mercy on them and miraculously provided them with water. He spared their lives and in so doing, saved Ishmael’s descendants, the Muslim people of the world. God loves Muslims and wants to provide Living Water for them through Jesus Christ. The vision of BERUMA Ministries Inc. is to open the eyes of the Muslim community and to bring them from darkness into the light of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts: 26:18)
Dynamic Church Planting International – Jay & Karen Devers
Jay Devers serves as Global Zone Representative with Dynamic Church Planting International. DCPI was born from the desire to see church planters thrive in fulfilling their God-given calling. Through the years, DCPI has only gotten better at equipping church planters around the world as we press on toward our Vision of equipping leaders to plant 5 million dynamic churches to reach the world for Christ.
DCPI trains church pastors and leaders globally as well as locally, here in the US. Through their three day workshops, church planters are given the tools they need to succeed. Since 1994 DCPI has seen over 191,000 leaders trained. In 2017 alone over 40,000 were trained.
Jay and his wife, Karen, have served as church planters since 1991 with over 25 years focused on church planting among Muslims in Southeast Asia. Now they live near the DCPI global headquarters in Oceanside, California. Jay will be travelling overseas to train as well as catalyze DCPI training in new countries. An additional goal of DCPI is to see their church plant training occur in every country. So far over 120 countries have been impacted.

Bridges International / CRU – Daun Slauson
Jesus tells His followers to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Living in Southern California we have a unique opportunity, because the nations are literally coming to us. I am blessed to be working with Bridges International, a ministry of Cru, on the campus of UC Irvine (UCI) reaching out to the many international students who come to study there.
At UCI, there are approximately 10,000 international students each year. Many of them come from closed nations, meaning that they are not free to learn about the Bible and Jesus in their home country. Some have never even heard the name of Jesus. Our mission is to build relationships with these students and offer them to opportunity to hear about Jesus and to study the Bible. This is done through one on one appointments with students, a weekly English Practice, and inviting them to join our 5-week discovery Bible study (held at the beginning of each quarter), in addition to several other activities.
Having previously spent 10 years as a missionary in Australia, sent by Knott Ave, working with International students, God has given me a passion and heart for reaching these students.
Your support is so much appreciated, and prayers vital to this ministry. Please pray for me as I reach out to students, that I can make strong connections with them and have boldness as I tell them about Christ. Prayer that the hearts of the students will be open, not just to hearing about Jesus as a theory, but to truly consider His love for them.
South Seas Christian Ministry
Talofa! Greetings from the South Pacific! We praise God that His great name is well and alive in Samoa and His grace flows abundantly through its tropical islands and her hospitable people. South Seas Christian Ministries (SSCM) was established in 1988 to provide support to the islands of the South Pacific by way of Medical Clinics, building supplies for the hurricane plagued region, Bible Camps, Bible Seminars, Youth Sports Camps and other needs in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. SSCM mission is to come alongside the already established churches in Samoa and provide tools to support their development of a personal relationship with Jesus. This staunchly religious country is admirably devoted to their churches, their villages and their families. South Seas aims to support that devotion through the building up of personal understanding and discipleship of Jesus Christ.
