KACC Weekly Update - May 11th, 2016

Compassion International

This May, in celebration of mothers all over the world, our Facebook check-ins will provide food for a mother and her new baby!

Thanks to our partnership with Reach, we are supporting Compassion International. Every five Facebook check-ins at Knott Avenue Christian Church will provide 1 day of food for a mother and her new baby.

Compassion International is the world’s leading authority in holistic child development through sponsorship. Through their ‘Child Survival Program’, Compassion was able to help 30,659 mothers and babies so far. The program is run in places like Haiti, El Salvador, Kenya, and Indonesia - where mothers and babies need the most help.

When you check in on Facebook, make sure to add #love4moms to your posts. It’s a great way to remind your friends of why you’re checking in! To learn more about Compassion International, check out their site http://www.compassion.com.

God's Idea of the Home

New Message series beginning Sunday, May 15

We are in a time of “re-definition.” Many terms in our culture are experiencing a crisis of meaning. The definitions concerning genders, male and female, are being redefined. Cohabitation without marital commitment is now defining many homes. Other homes are defined by same-sex marital commitment. We find ourselves in a place where many defining questions are being asked, like: Can a family have two dads or two moms? Should parents just play the role of spectators to their kid’s journey to self-discovery or should they lead their kids to understand their identity? In this new series we will take time to listen to God’s idea of the home. God has spoken clearly on these issues and we want to come together to hear His perspective and allow that to shape our understanding of home.
