Tuesday, August 16 | 10:00 | Fellowship Hall

Young at Heart seniors group will start back up again next Tuesday, August 16 at 10:00 am in Fellowship Hall. It will be the birthday potluck celebrating August birthdays, so make sure to bring some tasty food to share!

Pastor Ron Gallaher will be speaking that day and for the rest of August, so you will be hearing some great words of wisdom.

Also, there will be a special guest pianist, 13 year-old Gavin Gildart, son of KACC Deacon, Erick Gildart. Gavin will accompany you as you sing four great hymns and a patriotic song. For extra inspiration, Gavin will also be playing a special solo piece that he is working hard on just for you.

So if you’re a senior who is still Young at Heart, come join in!

This August, we are partnering with Save The Children to provide early childhood education and tools for kids in need in the United States. Every 2 check-ins at KACC on facebook provides 1 day of lessons and tools for kids. Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success is a federal early childhood development program that promotes school readiness and social/emotional development for children from low- income families. Take a look at Save The Children’s Facebook Page and website to see how early childhood lessons can change the course of a child’s life.

When you check in on Facebook, you can add #earlylearning to your posts. It’s a great way to remind your friends and family why you’re checking in. Have fun checking in and help kids in our nation and around the corner!

Made for Television Movie Prescreening

Saturday, August 13, 7:00 p.m. KACC Auditorium

Bring friends who need a message of hope and forgiveness.

The Last Appeal has had such powerful impact as a dramatic production in churches and prisons that it has now been produced into a made for television movie that will be shown worldwide on August 27 with a guaranteed audience of 6 million people around the globe.

The film producers, Eastern Sky Theatre Company, are having pre-outreach screenings in several states to help believers be aware of the airing so they can encourage others to tune in to watch the film and be touched by the gospel message.

They have contacted Knott Avenue Christian Church to have one of those advanced screenings to not only get the word out about the movie, but more importantly, to share the hope of God’s love and forgiveness at the actual screening for those who attend.  So Knott Avenue will be showing the film FREE.

THE LAST APPEAL has won 7 Film Festival awards around the country in the past 6 weeks!

Tuesday, August 16 at 7 pm in the Auditorium.

Men’s Ministry is sponsoring an all-church movie night on Tuesday, August 16 at 7pm in the Auditorium. The movie is Woodlawn, the amazing true story of what can happen when God is given the chance to change attitudes and hearts. Pastor Ron Gallaher actually played in the football game, USC vs. Alabama, depicted in the opening scene of the movie! Join us for this free event.

Saturday, August 27 – Huntington Beach

Remember, along with gathering together for a beach day, we’ll also have our annual beach baptisms take place during this time. Baptism is a symbolic act of joining the family of God. People will be at the beach ALL DAY from 6 am – 10 pm, join us at any time, but don’t miss the baptisms at 4 pm! Parking is $15 for the day which allows you re-entry. Bring your own food, drinks, and beach gear and prepare for a special day!

Scheduled events for the day:
