KACC Weekly Update - August 17th, 2016

New message series
August 21 – September 11

As school semesters start up across the nation, many begin to dread the workload of homework, pop-quizzes, exams and term papers. The most dreaded of all assignments has to be “the group project.” The over achievers start becoming anxious thinking about the extra effort they will have to put forth to carry the weaker members of the group. The slackers begin to feel restless knowing that they will be constantly nagged to carry their weight. Working with others is one of the most difficult tasks we face as students, but has proven to be a great builder of character and catalyst of maturity. Jesus taught His disciples in a team environment and forced them to take on challenges as a group. The disciples learned a lot about Jesus, themselves, and the mission of God as a group. In this series we will look at how the disciples grew together and went out on assignment together. In doing this study we will see how we can better grow and go together as believers.

Thursdays, September 1 – 29

7:00 – 9:00 | CC Room 201

Learn how to lead someone to eternal life in Jesus Christ through a clear and simple presentation of the “Romans 6:23 Bridge.” Each night you will have 30 minutes of classroom training and then you will go out with a mentor who will show you how it is done. We will be visiting people who have already visited Knott Avenue who have expressed interest in becoming a Christian or being baptized. We also take them cookies and information about our church to answer their questions about KACC. Sign up by Sunday, August 21 at the Evangelism table.

This August, we are partnering with Save The Children to provide early childhood education and tools for kids in need in the United States. Every 2 check-ins at KACC on Facebook provides 1 day of lessons and tools for kids. Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success is a federal early childhood development program that promotes school readiness and social/emotional development for children from low-income families. Take a look at Save The Children’s Facebook Page and website to see how early childhood lessons can change the course of a child’s life.

When you check in on Facebook, you can add #earlylearning to your posts. It’s a great way to remind your friends and family why you’re checking in. Have fun checking in and help kids in our nation and around the corner!
