KACC Weekly Update - March 1st, 2017

No child should ever go hungry! That’s why this March, we’re stepping in to help stop hunger through our partnership with feedOne. Every 2 check-ins on facebook will provide a meal to one of over 146,676 children in ten countries that feedONE Children’s Feeding Initiative serves. Our goal this month is to provide at least 750 meals for children in need. Let’s beat this goal and feed hungry kids!

In this Bible study through the book of Colossians, we will learn the secrets of living a fruitful Christian life. By today’s standards, these secrets may seem counterintuitive: We find victory in surrender. We find life in death. We discover strength in weakness. We are enriched through sacrifice. This series will challenge us to grow deep in our faith and live tall in our daily lives.

If you are 18 years or older and experiencing the pain of losing a loved one, please join us for our next Biblically-based session of GriefShare. This group meets from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Mondays, beginning, Monday, March 6 in Fellowship Hall and continues for thirteen weeks . The cost is $20 and Childcare is available. For more information, contact Linda Minner at 714.952.2660.

Our Student Ministry has a special event coming up this Friday, March 10 just for 4th and 5th grade students. This will be a fun time of crazy games and all you can eat pizza! The outrageously fun evening takes place in the auditorium from 6:00 to 8:30pm. It is free, and a great opportunity for 4th and 5th graders to get to interact with the Student Ministry leaders, helping them to become familiar with student ministry for when they will transition from Children’s Ministry in 6th grade.

Don’t forget, Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 12. It will be time to “Spring Forward.” So, remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. You will lose an hour of sleep, but you’ll be right on time for church on Sunday morning!

SATURDAY, MARCH 18, 8:00 am – 12:00 noon

Save the date to make a difference on our church campus.

We want to “Get Going” as KACC Family to get God’s house ready for the guests who will be coming to visit us this Easter season. We are looking for 125+ people to join us Saturday, March 18 to make some key improvements in and around our church.

Check your bulletin this Sunday for all the opportunities to help. We have identified many areas that need attention of varying skill levels, from dusting to tree trimming!

We are also looking for people who are knowledgeable and skilled to head up work crews over specific areas. Maybe you have a special skill or tools that you would share with us on our work day - let us know! Contact Pastor Mike Hammontre at 714.527.5195 x 217, or sign up on Sunday at the Information Center (Get Going table)!
