KACC Weekly Update - May 31st, 2017

June 11 – 12:15 pm

It’s beginning to feel a lot like SUMMERTIME!! Let’s celebrate that, church family! Join in for some family fun after second service on Sunday, June 11. We’ll have BBQ hamburgers, cheese burgers, fancy hot dogs, and bacon-wrapped hot dogs with all the fixings, for $1.50 each. Chips, drinks and other goodies are priced at $1 each. Not only will it be awesome to spend time with your church family and share a great lunch, but the proceeds above the cost of the meal will go to help us finish paying for our parking lot! You’ll want to eat something after church anyway, right? Why not enjoy some BBQ and do good! We’ll need to know how many to plan for, so RSVP by letting us know on your Connect Card on Sunday or by calling the church office by Wednesday, June 7.

Beginning June 11

Summer is almost here and we’ll spend it in Rome! The apostle Paul in the first century wanted to visit Rome. He was not looking to hit all the tourist spots, but he was looking to unite a family. Paul desired for Jews and Gentiles (non-Jews) to see their unity in the family of God. As a church, we are going to journey through Paul’s letter to the Romans this summer. We believe this summer series, beginning June 11, will help us all better understand our place in the family of God.

This June, we will once again partner with Soles4Souls to help provide shoes to people who need them. Soles4Souls provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world, while also creating sustainable jobs. This month, every 10 check-ins on Facebook helps provide a pair of shoes to someone in need – our goal is to provide at least 150 pairs of shoes! Thanks for checking in to help disrupt the cycle of poverty!

June 20 through August 15

Men, you have the opportunity to go through the book Every Man's Battle – Winning the war on sexual temptation one victory at a time, by Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoker ($15). This book offers a practical, detailed plan for any man who wants to re-align his eyes, mind, and heart with the God-given standard. This study meets Tuesday nights, 7 to 8:30 pm, beginning June 20 through August 15, Sign-up at the information table on Sundays, or contact Bradd Arruda at braddarruda@att.net.

Monday, June 19

On Monday, June 19, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm you have the opportunity to meet the needs of others by donating blood through the Red Cross here at KACC. You can sign up online at www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code “KACC.” Invite a friend to give blood with you and introduce them to the heart of Jesus Christ that looks to serve others.

We have an exciting summer planned for your kids! Our elementary theme this year is “Built for a Purpose.” We’ll dig into the life of Joseph and see how God used everything in his life to accomplish His special purpose. Our activities will be a blast and our mornings will consist of a time of worship and a brief message from God’s Word. We are excited to inspire kids to live the purpose God has for each of them! For more information or to register for events visit Creation Cove or call the church office at (714) 527-5195.

Informational meeting on Sunday, June 11 at 12:15 p.m. All of our exciting events require lots dedicated helpers. If you are interested in volunteering for VBS (7/17-21) or any other events, please plan to come to a short informational meeting on Sunday, June 11 at 12:15 p.m., right after the 10:45 a.m. service. We will meet in CC Room 206 after all kids have been picked up from service.
