KACC Weekly Update - July 26th, 2017

Every summer KACC sets aside a special day to be baptized at the beach, and this year it is Sunday, August 20 at 4 pm. It will not only be a great time outdoors in the sun, but more importantly you will get to bask in the love of the Risen Son as you follow His command to identify with Him in baptism according to Matthew 28:19. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to be part of this special day where you step up to follow Jesus. We’ll have printed invitations for you to invite them.

We are planning to meet in front of the Bayshore Playground, just west of the pier. The address is 5415 E. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach.  Park in the lot on Ocean Blvd, and then walk up 54 th St. to the bay side.

If you would like to be baptized on this day, you’ll need to talk to a KACC Pastor first about your faith journey with Jesus. Please fill in your contact information on your Connect Card and turn it in by Sunday, August 13, so they can connect with you about your desire to be baptized. You can also call the church office.

We are the church as we work, go to school, participate in sports, enjoy hobbies and do ordinary things. In other words, doing the everyday things of life, but doing them in a way that shows our devotion to Jesus and one another. As a church, we’ve been given the challenge to intentionally build relationships with those who live around us by hosting a Neighborhood BBQ. If you would like to host a BBQ in your neighborhood, you can sign up at church to receive a hosting kit that includes invitations, a timeline, information how to host the event, coloring pages for kids, yard signs, BBQ sauce and seasonings. More information is available at the Information Center. Let’s take advantage of this opportunity to make connections with our neighbors and enjoy some time together!

KACC has a weekly Thursday afternoon food pantry that is available for anyone who may be struggling financially. Your donations of non-perishable canned food items like tuna, chicken, soups, fruit, and boxed and bagged items like cereal, rice, beans, pasta, etc. are needed. Let’s love our neighbors. Grab a red bag (located on the north and south landings), fill it, bring it back and make a difference!

The KACC Early Childhood Development Center provides a safe and loving environment that allows children to learn about the love of Christ and get a head start on education. There is a
morning core program as well as before and after care. There are still openings for preschool
and kindergarten. Enroll now, the fall session is beginning soon. Call 714.527.1544 to schedule
an appointment or tour. More information is available at kacc.church.

During July, every check-in provides one week of clean drinking water to a family in Haiti. We’re working with Northwest Haiti Christian Mission to make it happen. This group partners with local churches to bring the people of Northwest Haiti out of spiritual, physical and social poverty. For more information about this month’s charity, check out www.nwhcm.org. As of Wednesday, July 24 our check-ins have provided a week or water for 1,450 families! Keep checking in, church family and #givewater!
